Have a current injury, are pregnant, or new to exercise? Cut every count in half, skip anything with jumping or sudden direction change, and stop at the first sign of sharp pain, not just tightness. This guide reduces risk, it does not replace a professional assessment for an existing condition.
Before you start: rate your tightness from 1 (loose) to 5 (very tight) in your hips, shoulders, and low back. After your warm-up: rate again.

Stretching a cold, tight muscle can lead to injury rather than prevent it. Static stretching is best saved for after activity, not as the first thing you do.
